Joseph P. Caruso is executive director of the Mohawk Valley Economic Development District, Inc. (MVEDD), and executive vice president/ CEO of its affiliate, the Mohawk Valley Rehabilitation Corporation (MORECO).
Mr. Caruso has worked in the field of economic development in various capacities and arenas, including the City of Utica (New York) Office of Urban and Economic Development, where he was an economic development zone specialist, and the National Development Council (NDC), a national community development financing not-for-profit organization. While at NDC, he served for part of his tenure as a portfolio manager for the Grow America Fund, NDCís community development financing institution (CDFI). He also served as regional director for two United States Senators, the Hon. Daniel Patrick Moynihan and the Hon. Hillary Rodham Clinton, and was the director of polling for the Siena Research Institute (SRI). Most recently, he served as workforce development specialist for the Workforce Investment Board of Herkimer, Madison and Oneida Counties.
Mr. Caruso holds an M.A. from Marquette University and a B.A. from Utica College.
